As designers we’re privileged to be presented with hundreds of new products each month and there are always some standout designs and materials that we can’t wait to use in a scheme. We’ve picked our favourites to share with you:
In fabrics, Colefax and Fowler’s delicate sheer ‘Carissa’ a paisley woodblock stripe is effortlessly elegant. The reassuring repetition of the wide decorative stripe creates a calming, fresh & summery feel; best used unlined to frame a classically proportioned window. In contrast, for a much earthier, autumnal look, we’ve discovered a new leather which is tanned using olive leaf extract. The colour took our breath away so we were excited to learn that this product also has excellent eco credentials (as a result of the unique tanning process using natural byproducts of the olive harvest!)
French interiors brand Casamance, have impressed us with their recent wallpapers and wallcoverings – from their charming bee print wallpaper to relaxed paper backed linens; both playful and sophisticated offerings with plenty of textural appeal. Woven wood wallcoverings by Adèle are created with skilled precision resulting in gentle, geometric patterning and a stunning handmade product. We can envisage this material working beautifully used to back joinery in an upcoming project.
For biophilic appeal, Bolefloor’s sinuous wood flooring ticks all the boxes. Instead of the rectangular planks that we’re all familiar with, Bolefloor creates boards with a curvilinear edge giving the flooring a beautifully organic look and sense of flow. In complete contrast to the Bolefloor style but equally as exciting, propped up in the studio are some enormous Parquet de Versailles wood flooring panels, made from reclaimed wood and traditionally waxed – these are exquisite and the design is scaled up or down to perfectly complement a room’s proportions!
We can’t wait to see what the new season brings and we’ll keep you posted on our finds.
